Mission Statement

To prevent disease and promote, maintain and improve the good health of the people living and working within the Barberton Health District; to educate the community about public health matters and to enforce/implement State of Ohio and local public health programs.

Vision Statement
The Barberton Health District will strive to increase the health and quality of life of the citizens of Barberton by reducing the risk of communicable disease, preventable chronic disease and environmental risk factors.

To realize these goals, the Barberton Health District must strengthen the public health system in Barberton and throughout Summit County in the following ways:
1. Continue to assess health outcomes for those individuals that receive public health services.
2. Provide all citizens with the information, resources, and the necessary links within the   community to make healthier choices and live healthier lives.
3. Protect people from health threats beyond their control, such as bioterrorism, natural disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and environmental hazards.  Achieving this vision requires the combined efforts of public and private partners in government and business, hospitals, medical providers, schools, churches, community organizations, and our citizens.
