Statement
of Purpose:
To prevent disease and to
promote and maintain the quality health and well being of the
citizens in the Barberton Health District. To
provide nursing services through department-based clinics,
outreach, and community-based programs which will be delivered
in a professional, compassionate and confidential manner.
WIC Program (Women, Infants, and Children):
WIC
is a nutrition education program. WIC provides nutritious
foods which promote good health for pregnant Women, women who
just had a baby, breastfeeding moms, infants, and children up to

Who Is Eligible..?
Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a baby less
than six months old, and infants and children up to five years
old are eligible to apply for WIC.
To qualify for services, you
must:
● Live In
Ohio
● Meet WIC
income guidelines
● Meet
certain nutritional or health risks
What does WIC Provide..?
●
Nutrition education and support
● Breastfeeding
education and support
● Free breast pumps to qualified mothers
● Immunization screening and referral
● Coupons to shop at local grocery
stores for:
Milk Cereal
Juice Eggs
Peanut butter Beans
Infant formula
Cheese Tuna fish and carrots (if you are
breastfeeding)
● Referral for maternal, prenatal and pediatric health
care
●
Referral for Healthy Start
●
Voter Registration
